The RCA Dome and the Indiana Convention Center are both managed by the CIB (a.k.a. the Capital Improvement Board of Managers).  Between the two buildings, over 540,000 square feet of exhibit space and meeting space exist for downtown Indianapolis - there are 48 meeting rooms, seven exhibit halls, four ballrooms, and a domed stadium.  The RCA Dome and Indiana Convention Center are host to a few of the largest events in the nation such as the Bands of America Grand National Championships and the Coca-Cola Circle City Classic.

The Indiana Convention Center is unique in its architectural design, staff, and flexibility:  The Indiana Convention Center is known for its panoramic view of the city with its floor-to-ceiling glass panels.  The Center’s staff event coordinators will provide personal attention, the security personnel are always on the job, the technicians are forever ready to assist, and the welcome center volunteers ensure all questions are answered and can even make dinner reservations.  One of the most popular meeting spaces in the Indiana Convention Center is the Sagamore Ballroom.  The Sagamore Ballroom is the size of a football field, can accommodate as many as 3,400 people, and can be divided up into seven sections; in addition, it has optimum acoustics, amazing audio-visual capabilities, and a very sophisticated sound system.

Skywalks Indianapolis IndianaFor a fashionable way to get around downtown, the skywalks are the way to go.  They connect the RCA Dome and the Indiana Convention Center with several downtown facilities including the Westin Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, the Circle Centre Mall, and the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis.  The RCA Dome additionally links the Conference Center at the historic Union Station and the Crowne Plaza Hotel.  The skywalks also grant access to the Indianapolis Artsgarden, several other hotels, and over 6,000 parking spaces.

The RCA Dome was opened on May 3, 1984.  It is home to conventions, trade shows, consumer shows, and concerts.  But it is best known as the home for the Indianapolis Colts.  However, the Colts’ new home in 2008 will become the Lucas Oil Stadium.  The Lucas Oil Stadium will have a retractable roof and an operable window.  There will be over 5,000 more permanent seats and almost 50 more luxury suites than the RCA Dome.  After the Lucas Oil Stadium is built, the RCA Dome will be torn down, and the Indiana Convention Center will be expanded on.  The new additions will help to make it one of the largest convention centers in the nation.  The new stadium already has future plans on how to be used.  It will be host to the 2010 Men's Final Four and the 2011 Women's Final Four basketball tournaments for the NCAA and a possible future Super Bowl for the NFL.
