Indianapolis Indiana has over 180
parks that are each unique and enjoyable. There are six regional
parks, nineteen community parks, and several neighborhood parks.

REGIONAL PARKS
Riverside Park
Riverside Park was
established in 1898. This park serves the needs of large special
events, community and civic meetings, and athletic leagues. There is a
family center with program space, a gymnasium, weight room, large
multi-purpose room, meeting rooms, and a ceramic/craft room. Other
amenities at Riverside Park include a seasonal aquatic center, four football
fields, two outdoor basketball courts, two baseball diamonds, twelve tennis
courts, seven softball diamonds, a horseshoe pit, two playgrounds, a boat
launch to the White River, and six picnic shelters.

Sahm Park
Amenities at Sahm
Park include a playground, corporate pavilion and picnic shelters, four
tennis courts, a basketball and sand volleyball court, frisbee golf 18 hole
course, soccer fields, and a fitness trail. A main focus of this park
is the newly remodeled aquatic center that has a 400,000 gallon pool, a zero
depth area, spray features, slides, and lap lanes. In addition, the
organization, North Side Soccer, serves the youth on the northeast side of
Indianapolis and makes its home at Sahm Park.

Southeastway Park
Amenities at
Southeastway Park include picnic shelters and areas, biking and hiking
trail, playground, open fields and wooded areas, a pond, and an activity and
education center. The Activity and Education Center is a central focus
at this park and offers several programs such as "Environmental Edventures."
In the fall, the park offers a tractor pulled hayride and an evening
campfire. In addition, on the last Sunday in August, there is an annual
one-day event known as "Bug Fest." This festival allows families to
celebrate insects.

Southwestway Park
Southwestway Park
park is the second largest park in Indianapolis, Indiana and is joined with
Cottonwood Lakes and Winding River Golf Course. Amenities at
Southwestway Park include three baseball diamonds, six soccer fields, a
concession stand, picnic shelter, hiking trails, and a playground.
There are plans to add tennis cours, an aquatic center, and additional
shelters.
