The Arts Council of Indianapolis is a local community organization dedicated to helping the arts thrive in central Indiana. The resources provided by the Council are a large part of the reason Indianapolis has such a thriving arts scene.

In addition to grants and fellowships, the Arts Council of Indianapolis provides a directory of artists and arts organizations. It also sponsors hundreds of free events every year, including all the events at the Indianapolis Artsgarden downtown in Circle Center Mall. The Artsgarden also contains the city’s only Cultural Concierge. Located in a beautiful mosaic-splashed kiosk, the Cultural Concierge not only has all the latest brochures from the local arts organizations, but also friendly and knowledgeable staff to help you in your cultural quest.

The Arts Council also sponsors a local Arts Card, a card you can sign up for on their website to receive discounts on different arts activities. You can also sign up to receive announcements of the different discounts and a newsletter about new arts events and activities throughout the city.

One of the biggest goals of the art council is to change the face of public art in Indianapolis. The Council’s success on that front can be seen all over the city, through the innovative and inspirational use of public space for the arts.
