Indiana/World Skating Academy

Pan Am Plaza is home to the Indiana/World Skating Academy in (I/WSA) downtown Indianapolis Indiana. The Plaza features two ice skating rinks, one of which is Olympic size. These rinks, in conjunction with a research center, have made Indianapolis Indiana an outstanding training site for ambitious figure skaters, speed skaters and aspiring hockey players. They also provide a great opportunity for public skating. For a schedule of times available and prices, visit this site.

Public skating is a great way to have fun, get exercise, socialize with friends, and meet new friends! The dual-rink facility is open all year.  There are lockers, concessions, and skate rentals to make your experience a great one. Information can be found here regarding up-to-date pricing and scheduling.

In addition to public skating, the I/WSA also provides an outstanding venue for a memorable birthday or private party. One common party activity promoted at the I/WSA is broomball. It is a fun version of hockey that uses a broom and ball instead of a stick and puck, and you wear your shoes instead of skates. You can even use half the rink for your skating party, and the other half for broomball to give everyone a choice of which to do--or both!

Ever dream of being the next great American figure skater? I/WSA has you covered.  There are open figure skating sessions that are separated by skill level. And if you don't know where to begin, don't worry. Clinics, training, and seminars are available from the talented coaching staff.

The Indiana/World Skating Academy offers training for the physical and educational needs for those who wish to elevate their ability to excel at figure and dance skating. The academy is home to national and world-class coaches. They specialize in many different aspects such as choreography, drama, ballet, jazz, aerobics, jumping,
and weight training.

For those interested in a little more speed the Plaza offers speed skating practice and training. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced skater you are sure to enjoy yourself, and rental skates are available. For more information and scheduling, follow this link.

If hockey is your forte, you'll find all you need here as well.

Youth Hockey:
There are quite a few options for those of all age and skill levels. Hockey at the Indiana/World Skating Academy has programs for youngsters, junior high kids, and Girl's leagues. For more information on any of these, visit this site.

Adult Hockey:
Want to relive the glory days? Or just looking to take up a fun, healthy activity? Whatever your motive, you're sure to find something appealing here. Adult pick-up hockey is for players ages 18 and older. 16 and 17 year olds will be allowed to play with parent permission and if they sign a waiver.

The Indianapolis Hockey Club also offers Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter leagues. Currently there are three divisions to accommodate a variety of skill levels and they hold periodic tournaments.

The Indianapolis Sirens, the only women's hockey team in Indianapolis, also plays at the Pan Am Plaza. The enrollment is open to the public.

All information regarding scheduling, pricing, and requirements for men's and women's adult hockey can be found by following this link.

Need some hockey instruction? There are private instructors that offer a myriad of skill training sessions. Whether you want to work on your skating, puck handling, shooting, or even goalie skills, you should contact one of the academy's fantastic trainers.

Learn to skate programs are quite popular for all ages. Skating is not only fun, but a great way to get exercise and meet new people.

Do you need some new equipment or some repairs? I/WSA has you covered there, as well. Visit this link to learn more.
