The neighbhorhood offers two grocery stores, several convenience stores, restaurants, bars, a hospital, and Post Office, all within walking distance. The neighborhood is bound by 10th Street on the South, Sherman Drive on the West, 16th Street on the North, and Emerson Avenue on the East.
The neighborhood was developed during the 1910s and 1920s. It is named for St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church. Initially, it was a mainly Irish-Catholic neighborhood, with close ties to the church. Architectural styles include Arts and Crafts, California Bungalow, Colonial, and Tudor Revival. The neighborhood is served by Indianapolis Public Schools, Little Flower Catholic School, and Scecina Catholic High School.
