Capri Italian Restaurant owner Arturo Dirosa has started and carefully nurtured a dynasty among the Italian restaurants in Indianapolis. Besides the Capri Ristorante, he also owns Amalfi Ristorante nearby in northwest Indianapolis, his brother owns Matteo’s Italian Restaurant in the Indianapolis suburb of Noblesville, Indiana, and he brought his mother over from the Old Country to lend her genius to the kitchen.
Serving lunch, dinner and banquets, the Capri Italian Restaurant is a warm, lovely dining establishment with linen-covered tables both inside and outside. The cuisine may be fairly described as gourmet Italian, with homemade noodles and sausages and mouth-watering sauces from the homeland, all prepared and presented with the amore for which Italian chefs are famous around the world.
On the menu you will find some of the finest in Italian cuisine anywhere in Indiana, with items such as Ravioli Aurora (ricotta and spinach-filled, homemade ravioli), Linguine alla Vongole with fresh clams, Gnocchi di Patate Sorrentina (homemade pasta with shrimp) and Piccata di Vitello, the house Veal Scalloppina. Fresh fish and high-quality filets are also on the list, along with authentically Italian antipasti and soups of the day.
The Capri Ristorante is a popular gathering place for private functions. They offer a special “antipasto table” and family-style menus full of options like Gnocchi della Mamma, Tortellino alla Papalina Old World and Arista di Maiale, a delectable recipe from the Old Country, with cheese and ham-stuffed rolled pork in a wine and tomato sauce.
The Capri Italian Restaurant can be found in the northeastern corner of the Circle City, just northeast of Broad Ripple Village. Other fine Dirosa family dining establishments are the Amalfi Ristorante, in the northwest sector, and Matteo’s, on the square in nearby Noblesville.
