As the temperatures fell in December, 2011 the Fishers real estate market warmed slightly in sold property numbers compared to 2010. The total sales in Fishers increased 7.7-percent to a total of 84 compared to 78 in 2010. The good news is that the market is slowly rising. This small rise could be contributed to the fact that there were fewer houses on the market in 2011 compared to 2010. Total homes for sale in 2011 dropped 12.4-percent from 621 to 544. There was a sizeable jump in home sales between November to December with December seeing a 31.3-percent increase, selling 20 more homes than the previous month.
Through the pending numbers a large downturn can be seen. November 2011 had 84 pending sales in the Fishers market. The market took a sharp downturn in December 2011 dropping 40.5% to a total of 50 pending sales for that month. The good news is that the numbers are only down 10.7% from the 56 pending sales in the previous month and year.
All of the numbers seem to be on trend with the Indianapolis real estate market. The only noticeable variance is the minuscule loss Marion County experienced in sold homes. Down 1.3-percent from 694 sold in December 2010 to 685 sold in December 2011. This shows promise and growth in the Fishers market. Fishers homes for sale showed on a slightly smaller decrease from December the previous year at 17.6-percent decrease in Marion County. In conclusion, Fishers Indiana seems to be on track with the numbers of neighboring areas and will find stabilization through the winter months
