Since 2000, H2O Sushi Bar and Restaurant has been wowing Broad Ripple customers with its exquisite offerings. H2O Sushi Bar has a seemingly endless list of options and a unique blend of flavors for Indianapolis customers to choose from. The variety of sushi and rolls offered at this Indianapolis restaurant is astonishing. Not a fish lover? Try their popular salads or their warm entrees, like the braised salmon or the pork ribs.
H2O Sushi Bar and Restaurant comes with a lingo of its own, due to the fact that many ingredients are Japanese. Curious Indianapolis customers can look at H2O’s Web site for the meaning of the words like Aji, which is horse mackerel, or Wakame, a dried seaweed. Some popular menu items at H2O include their miso soup and seaweed salad. And unlike many sushi restaurants, H20 only uses real, fresh crab meat.
H2O Sushi Bar was founded by Mike Sylvia and Greg Hardesty, who also opened the popular downtown Indianapolis restaurant Elements, in 2003. Because of the growing success of both restaurants, the owners decided to sell H2O Sushi Bar to sous chefs Nicole Ankney-Anderson and Eli Anderson.
To appeal to a broader demographic, H2O Sushi Bar began offering additional soups and warm entrees. Ownership of this Indianapolis business has allowed Nicole to spread her wings and continue building her fabulous reputation as a pastry chef. The desserts at H2O Sushi Bar and Restaurant are to-die-for, and they now offer cookies by the dozen for large events of personal cravings. Ice cream and sorbet are other H2O specialties that are made in-house and can be bought by the quart.
Eli and Nicole are culinary arts lovers, trained at some of the finest education facilities in the United States. They love food so much that they even share recipes with customers on the H2O Web site. Customers can also find information and photos of the entrees, starters, rolls and desserts online.
The owners have really infiltrated Indianapolis society, culture and community by reaching out and participating in Indianapolis events. During the summer months, they participate in the Broad Ripple Farmers Market, selling cookies and ice cream. H2O Sushi Bar and Restaurant also participates in fundraisers that benefit the Indianapolis zoo.
