Ocean World Sushi is the sister-Sushi restaurant to Sakura Japanese restaurant, just a few miles to the east. Both are familiar restaurants in Indianapolis, and pretty much have the Sushi game wrapped up in the Circle City, though there are some other major players.
Ocean World Sushi has been operating in the North central section of Indianapolis for twelve years. They serve Japanese and American seafood dishes, along with beautiful authentic Sushi for lunch and dinner every day of the week to a grateful, Sushi-loving crowd.
Choose from traditional and classic entrees from all over the world, charbroiled, deep fried, blackened or sauteed. Get a Sushi party tray for your family with 33 pieces of their famous Sushi and 18 pieces of the California rolls, or a variety party tray with appetizers, chicken teriyaki, 8 pieces of tofu steak, 10 pieces of gyouza and edamame, 10 pieces of shrimp shumai and 8 pieces of tofu steak. You could go a la carte and mix and match, starting with the “Flying Fish Roe” and the “Canadian Roll” with its smoked salmon, shrimp, smelt roe, avocado and spicy sauce. For your entree, perhaps the broiled Chilean Seabass, the hand-breaded Panko Shrimp with Tonkatsu sauce or Ocean World’s own Steak Teriyaki.
The Sushi and Sashimi just does not get tastier or prettier than this. The menu goes on forever, each dish more tempting than the last. Bring your reading glasses and expect to take some time pouring over the lists; you will find this experience alone quite satisfying.
Drinks at Ocean World Sushi Restaurant are exotic too. Try the “Harushika,” or the “Otokoyama” sakes, both served in their original wooden boxes. If you still have room for dessert, you’re in luck. Ocean World caries a nice assortment of delectable-looking meal toppers, such as the Ogura Sunday, the Mango Mochi Ice Cream, the Espresso-soaked Tiramisu and Custard Layer Cake and real down-home Key Lime Pie.
Ocean World’s menu lends itself well to catering, which is why they have developed a slick, tempting “Box Lunch” catering menu. You can order whatever you want for pickup or arrange for one of Ocean World’s chefs to come to your place with a portable Sushi Bar and create a dinner party no one who attends will soon forget.
Enjoy Ocean World’s magnificent concoctions inside or outside on their comfortable patio.
